TOREX COUGH SYRUP
Overview
Torex Syrup is used for Common cold, Itchy throat/skin, Pain in arthritis, Back ache, Mild and chronic bronchial asthma, Back pain, Pain in shoulder joint, Kidney stones, Acidity, Allergy and other conditions. Torex Syrup may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.Torex Syrup contains Ammonium Chloride, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Ephedrine, Menthol and Sodium Citrate as active ingredients.
Torex Syrup works by increasing the excretion of extracellular electrolytes and water out of the body; temporarily relieving minor pain; blocking H1-receptor sites on tissues; regulating the intake of sodium and potassium; increasing cardiac output and inducing peripheral vasoconstriction;
Uses
Torex Syrup is used for the treatment, control, prevention, & improvement of the following diseases, conditions and symptoms:
- Common cold
- Itchy throat/skin
- Pain in arthritis
- Back ache
- Mild and chronic bronchial asthma
- Back pain
- Pain in shoulder joint
- Kidney stones
- Patients with metabolic alkalosis
- Patients with hypochloremic states
- Pain in tendons
- Pain in muscle strains or sprains
- Bruising
- Cramping
- Allergy
- Hay fever
- Watery eyes
- Anaphylactic shock
- Rhinitis
- Urticaria
- Acidity
- Gastric problems
- Low blood pressure
- Torex Syrup may also be used for purposes not listed here.
Side-effects
The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Torex Syrup. This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.
- Abnormally low blood pressure
- Chest tightness
- Injection site reactions
- Rash
- Fever
- Irregular breathing
- Bradycardia
- Progressive drowsiness
- Mental confusion
- Twitching
- Torex Syrup may also cause side-effects not listed here.
Precautions
Before using Torex Syrup, inform your doctor about your current list of medications, over the counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some health conditions may make you more susceptible to the side-effects of the drug. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. Important counseling points are listed below.- Allergic
- Ask a doctor before use if you have any breathing problems, glaucoma, or difficulty urinating
- Asthma
- Avoid alcohol and other sedatives while on this medication
- Avoid drinking alcohol with this medical
- Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how this drug will affect you
- Bleeding from the stomach or intestine
- Children below 1 year
- Chronic bronchitis
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Interactions with Torex Syrup
If you use other drugs or over the counter products at the same time, the effects of Torex Syrup may change. This may increase your risk for side-effects or cause your drug not to work properly. Tell your doctor about all the drugs, vitamins, and herbal supplements you are using, so that you doctor can help you prevent or manage drug interactions. Torex Syrup may interact with the following drugs and products:- Acetaminophen
- Alcohol
- Alginic acid
- Alprazolam
- Aluminum hydroxide
- Anisindione
- Antipsychotics
- Ascorbic acid
- Aspirin
- Calcium carbonate
When not to use Torex Syrup
Hypersensitivity to Torex Syrup is a contraindication. In addition, Torex Syrup should not be used if you have the following conditions:- Acute dehydration
- Anuria
- Azotemia
- Benign prostatic hyperplasia
- Heat cramps
- Hyperkalemia
- Hypersensitivity
- Hypertension
- Impaired renal function with oliguria
- Lactation
Composition and Active Ingredients
Torex Syrup is composed of the following active ingredients (salts)
- Ammonium Chloride - 75 MG/5ML
- Chlorpheniramine - 4 MG/5ML
- Epinastine - 5 MG/5ML
- Menthol - 1 MG/5ML
- Sodium Citrate - 50 MG/5ML
